Education Abroad
UCR students who study abroad are Global Highlanders. Global Studies majors and minors are strongly encouraged to study abroad by participating in one of the 170+ programs available across over 40 nations worldwide. Becoming a Global Highlander helps Global Studies majors and minors to:
- Study processes and problems that transcend national borders, including international politics, war, migration, social movements, creative work, media and communications, trade and finance, global health, pandemics, environmental change and sustainability.
- Prepare to become a global citizen, critical thinker, and creative problem solver.
With careful planning, Global Studies majors and minors complete their program requirements, especially in foreign language proficiency, geography area- focus, and capstone research. Suggested course sequence with best quarters for education abroad highlighted.
